support
Everything here is how the app actually behaves. If your question is not answered below, write to us and a person will read it.

Support messages are reviewed by the developer, and a response will be sent where one is needed. We would rather not promise a response time we cannot keep, so we do not promise one.
If something is broken, three details are usually enough to reproduce it:
A screenshot or a screen recording helps more than anything else. There is no account and no support portal to sign in to, so the email address above is the whole system.
No. There is no sign-up, no password and no email address collected. Open the app and it works. Everything the app stores lives on your iPhone.
Six of the twelve breath states and five of the nineteen programs are currently included without a subscription. The current free tier also includes the Compass, Today, widgets, Apple Watch support and Life Force. The exact free and Pro feature set is shown inside the app and may evolve as breathe develops.
One subscription, monthly or annual, unlocks the remaining six breath states and every program. Pricing is shown on the App Store and inside the app before you subscribe, and it follows your region and store.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, find breathe, then tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling at least 24 hours before the current period ends stops the next renewal. You keep Pro until that period runs out.
Open the subscription screen in the app and tap Restore. That asks Apple for the subscriptions on your Apple ID. No account, password or email is involved, because we do not hold one.
Apple does, through your Apple ID. Payment, billing, renewals, refunds and cancellation all happen on Apple's side. The app never sees your payment method, your card number, your billing address or your Apple ID email. All it receives is a signal from Apple confirming that a subscription is current, and that is stored on your device.
Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours, because Apple took the payment. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple ID you bought it on. If something in the app is the reason, email us as well so we can fix it.
Yes. The practice itself runs entirely on your iPhone, so every breath state, every program and every session works with no connection. One soundscape is built into the app, so the sound picker is never empty offline.
The other soundscapes are downloaded from a public Apple iCloud database, and only when you ask for one. Nothing downloads on its own: you tap the soundscape you want and it fetches that single track, with its size shown before you start and progress while it runs. You can stop a download at any time. There is also a control to fetch the whole set at once if you would rather have them all.
On Wi-Fi a download simply starts. If you are on cellular, breathe asks once, showing how large the track is, and remembers your answer. Downloaded tracks are stored on your device and stay available offline.
No. Every iPhone feature works without one. The Watch app is optional.
Start a session on iPhone and, if a Watch is paired, it runs a Mind and Body workout session. That wakes the heart rate sensor to about one sample a second, so your live heart rate streams back to the iPhone session screen while you practise. Phase haptics fire on the wrist, one per count, so you can follow the rhythm without looking at a screen. The session is saved to your own Apple Health workout history.
Apple Watch features need watchOS 9 or later, a paired Watch, and Health access granted.
No. Nothing is requested at launch, and nothing is requested just because a screen appeared. Every prompt sits behind a control you tap. The whole free tier works with no permissions granted at all.
Two separate things, both optional and both off until you turn them on.
Writing. Completed sessions are saved as Mindful Minutes, so your practice closes the Mindfulness ring. That is the only thing written to Health.
Reading. If you enable body signals, the app asks for read access to heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, sleep, active energy, steps and workouts. Those readings shape what the Compass suggests and what the app shows you about yourself. Workouts are used only to notice the hour you usually train, so a breath can be offered before it. The readings are processed on your iPhone and never leave your device.
In the app, open Compass, find the body signals card and turn body signals off. That stops the app reading. To stop it writing, open You and turn off Sync to Apple Health.
To revoke it at the system level, open Settings, Privacy and Security, Health, Breathe, and switch off any category. iOS lets you allow some categories and refuse others. Anything you refuse is simply missing, and the recommendation works with less.
Yes. Turn the reminder on in the You tab, which is also the moment the app asks for notification permission. One reminder a day, scheduled by iOS on your device. There is no push server, so nothing is sent to you remotely. Turn it off in the app, or in Settings, Notifications.
An optional extra, off by default. If you turn it on, the app moves the brightness and the colour of the lights you pick with your breath, then restores them when the session ends. It asks for HomeKit access only when you open that panel, it stores only the identifiers of the lights you chose, and it reads nothing else about your home.
No. breathe is a wellness app, not a medical one. It guides your breathing and your nervous system. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional medical care. The educational facts inside it are general information.
The same safety notice the app shows applies here. If you are pregnant, or you have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy or a seizure disorder, or a respiratory condition, speak with your doctor before you start. If you feel light-headed or dizzy at any point, let your breathing return to normal and rest.
On your iPhone. Your sessions, settings, name, avatar and subscription status live in local storage on the device. There is no account, no sign-in and no Eden server holding any of it. No analytics, no third-party SDKs and no ad networks are in the app.
Open You and use Reset all data, which wipes every local record after a confirmation. Deleting the app removes the rest.
One exception: Mindful Minutes already written to Apple Health belong to Health, not to us, so they stay until you remove them in the Health app.
Sessions written to Apple Health as Mindful Minutes can be exported from the Health app, which owns them. There is nothing on a server for us to send you, because there is no server.
The full detail is in the privacy policy.
